If you are an avid gym goer, I’m sure you know that sometimes you need to make changes to your regular beauty regime. With things such as sweat and dirt constantly getting in your hair and on your skin, it can be hard to find a beauty regime that works for you.
In this blog I want to share some of my favourite beauty products/tips I use before or after a workout, that really make a difference in my routine!
I’m sure many of you have heard me say this before, but I don’t like working out with makeup on. I find it makes my skin break out a lot easier as it clogs my pores and my skin doesn’t get a chance to breathe. If I do have a little makeup on I like to use cleansing wipes to remove this beforehand, so I always keep some in my bag.
If you are one of those people that goes to the gym before/after work I know sometimes it’s harder to remove your makeup, so I recommend using BB cream instead of foundation. I personally find BB cream to be a little better for your skin as it allows it to breathe a bit better. You can also find BB creams with extra benefits for your skin, such as SPF (sunscreen) protection and moisturising properties etc.
This is a lifesaver for me! I’m sure we all know the feeling of not wanting to wash our hair because we know it will only get sweaty later that day and ruin the clean vibe we have going on. In between washes I like to use dry shampoo to freshen up my hair without needing to wash it daily.
This one seems like a no brainer, but if you work out a lot you may be surprised how much you actually need it! I have deodorant in my gym bag as well as my car so I am never caught out without it. It’s a life saver – trust me!
This sort of goes hand in hand with the cleansing wipes, but it is always a good idea to have a cleanser in your bag. If you have had a really tough gym session and are feeling yucky and sweaty, cleansing your face can be really refreshing. On top of this, it may help remove any dirt and bacteria you picked up during your workout and prevent pimples from forming. If you have oily skin like me, sometimes the best thing you can do for it after a workout is to give it a thorough cleanse.
Keep Your Hair Out Of Your Eyes
If you have a fringe (or “bangs” as Americans call them!), pin this back when working out. Not only can this help to keep dirt and bacteria off your skin, but it may prevent breakouts as sweat won’t be getting trapped on your forehead. It can also help to keep the sweat out of your hair so you don’t have to spend as much effort refreshing it.
I hope these simple tips have helped, girls. I know it can be frustrating trying to stick to a good beauty regime when you are constantly fighting sweat, but think about how worth it is in the end!
